The Leamington Chamber of Trade is a voluntary, membership organisation, established 96 years ago by partners from the solicitors Wright Hassall and local accountants Burgis & Bullock to represent the interests of town centre businesses. The organisation is run by an elected committee of local businesspeople which meets bimonthly. As we have a small budget, funded entirely by very modest membership fees, the majority of our work involves lobbying other organisations to prioritise the needs of Leamington town centre, and particularly the independent businesses within Leamington that give it its unique character. We work with officers and elected members of Royal Leamington Spa Town Council, Warwick District Council, Warwickshire County Council and our local MP, as well as collaborating with other local societies such as The Leamington Society, CLARA and Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce where we have common cause. The Chamber is also a founder and active member of the Leamington Spa Town Centre Management Initiative - a partnership which works to improve and promote all aspects of the town. We also produce a regular newsletter, business directory and run quarterly networking and policy events for our membership, including our annual AGM in February.
